Position Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Information Systems Advisor 2 - Principal Developer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing and building the implementation of enterprise-level software and hardware solutions. This role involves analyzing business requirements, providing operational leadership, and collaborating with stakeholders to develop technical solutions that align with our current offerings and framework.

Metro Information Technology Services (ITS) is the central IT provider for the 60 departments and agencies of the Metro Government with a mission to lead the delivery of exceptional technology, service, and solutions. ITS staff members deliver 33 separate service lines to our partners within Metro Government. These services support the delivery of services to Nashvilles residents and visitors. Typical Duties

  • Design and development of enterprise-level software and hardware solutions.
  • Knowledge with Microsofts low code Power Platform suite, specifically Power Automate and Power Apps.
  • Analyze and build business requirements to assist in the development of technical solutions and align with current offerings and/or framework.
  • Provide operational leadership and guidance to other developer during project execution.
  • Evaluate existing systems to propose improvements and enhancements.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to gather and understand business requirements and work closely with developers to translate them into technical solutions.
  • Provide and build technical documentation, including system architecture diagrams, design documents, and project plans.
  • Conduct code reviews of developers before work moves to production.
  • Identify and mitigate risks associated with proposed solutions.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive documentation of systems architecture, including architecture diagrams, technical specifications, and operational procedures.
  • Possess a strong understanding of APIs and API Management.
  • Develop based off technical requirement using key tools such as Power Apps, Power Automate, Microsoft Orchestrator, OpenText Orchestrator and additional development tools.
  • Develop using key languages such as JSON, .NET and other coding languages per the proposed solutions needs.
  • Create and manage project plans, timelines, and resource allocation for key Metro projects.

Minimum Qualifications

Any combination of education and experience that would prepare the incumbent to perform the duties of the position at the appropriate level. Employees would typically have thorough five (5) years of experience in systems development, low code development, database management, API and API Management, Project Management and technical documentation and system architecture.

Preferred Experience, Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities

  • Experience as a Principal Developer.
  • Experience developing enterprise level projects.
  • Experience with Low Code development tools (Microsofts low code Power Platform suite, specifically Power Automate and Power Apps).
